No Refunds After License Issuance

OSSScan licenses are delivered digitally. All sales are final once the license delivery email has been sent to the email address provided at checkout, regardless of whether the download link has been clicked or the license file has been opened or installed.

License duration starts at the time you download your license file, not at the time of purchase. However, all purchases must have their license downloaded within one year of the purchase date. For example, you cannot purchase a 7-day license today and download it two years later. The license must be claimed within one year.

The following scenarios are non-refundable:

  • You purchased a license and the key was delivered to your email address, regardless of whether you have activated or used it.
  • You activated a license on a machine and subsequently decided you no longer need the software.
  • Your machine, operating system, or environment does not meet the system requirements published on the OSSScan website at the time of purchase.
  • You changed your mind after receiving the license key.

We strongly recommend downloading OSSScan and running a Compatibility Check before purchasing a license. The Compatibility Check confirms your machine is supported and generates the hardware fingerprint required at checkout, at no cost and with no license needed.

How to Request a Refund

Please double-check the email address you enter at checkout. Typos in your email address are the most common reason licenses go undelivered. OSSScan validates your license by hardware fingerprint, not by the email address in the license file. If you entered a typo, we can look up your purchase by fingerprint and resend the license to the correct address. Contact jim@ossscan.com with your machine fingerprint and the corrected email address.

If you were charged but never received the license download email, please contact us at jim@ossscan.com with your machine fingerprint and the email address used at checkout.

Before contacting us: please check your junk or spam folder. License delivery emails are sent automatically and are occasionally filtered by mail providers. If the email is not in your inbox or junk folder after a few minutes, then contact us.

  • Email jim@ossscan.com with your order details (order ID or the email address used at checkout).
  • Describe the issue clearly, including any error messages or confirmation emails you received.
  • We will review your request and respond within 3 business days.

Refund requests submitted after a license key has been issued and confirmed as delivered will not be approved except at our sole discretion in cases of documented technical failure on our part.

Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this Refund Policy at any time; the current version will always be available at ossscan.com, and the effective date above will reflect the most recent revision.
